Euh this is Hong Khaou the writer-director of Lilting. It has taken me 3 attempts to get this, to learn how to use this software of my laptop so I could record this message. This is really rock n roll I love it. Firstly, thank you so much for selecting Lilting as one of four films. It's a real privilege and honor, very very greatful. I should say something, usually I don't say anything because I think the film should really speak for itself but in this case I think I should just explain what the film title means in english. I think there isn't a french equivalent I believe. Lilting in english means a gentle rythm. A melody. It's usually to do with a melodic rythm so for example, certain languages are considered Lilting such as Brasilian Portuguese, French and even the french accent when you speak english is considered very Lilting. I guess I wanted to find a poetic interpretation for the film. I think when you watch the film, I hope when you watch the film you will see there is this quality throughout this Litlting quality. This film is very, is very very personal. I wouldn't say it is autobiographical but I think it's the themes that are explored in it are deeply personal to me and yeah I hope you enjoy it really.
